Typically, 2-4 implants are needed for a lower denture and 4-6 implants for an upper denture. The exact number depends on your jawbone quality, oral health, and the type of denture system chosen. We'll determine the optimal number during your consultation.
Yes, most implant retained dentures are removable for cleaning and maintenance. They snap securely onto the implants and can be easily removed by the patient. However, fixed implant dentures (like All-on-4) are permanently attached and can only be removed by your dentist.
The complete process typically takes 3-6 months. This includes the initial consultation, implant placement surgery, a 2-4 month healing period for osseointegration, and final denture fitting. You can wear temporary dentures during the healing period.
